Stress Reduction for Metabolic Syndrome

Summary
Compare the effects of Consciously Resting Meditation (CRM) versus Health Education (HE) in reducing stress and other risk factors of Heart Disease. Subjects are randomized to either HE or CRM.

Age: 30-65 Sex: Males and Females Ethnic Origin: African-American Diagnosis required to participate: 2 of MS risk factors: high BP, Obesity, High Triglycerides, High blood sugar

Exclusion Criteria
History of Heart Dx, Stroke, Kidney Dx, Cancer, HIV, Hepatitis, Drug Abuse, Alcoholism, Current Smoker, Pregnant
