About Dr. Christie

Dr. Christie currently serves a Clinical Director in the Division of Digestive Diseases as well as Interim Associate Division Director for Clinical Affairs. Dr. Christie is an award-winning gastroenterologist who specializes in gastroesophageal reflux disease, swallowing disorders, women's health, colon cancer screening, and other related conditions. She actively collaborates with colleagues in surgery, gynecology and urology to provide integrated care to produce the best possible outcomes for her patients.

Dr. Christie is actively involved in the education and training of medical students as well as medical residents at Emory University Hospital. She heads several research projects within the division and has published extensively with a particular focus on gastrointestinal motility disorders, functional bowel disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome, and disease manifestation and management in women. Dr. Christie is recognized nationally for her work in gastrointestinal motility as well as endoscopy. She has served on several national professional committees and currently is a member of the Governing Board for the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
