About Dr. Escobar

Dr. Escobar graduated with honors from La Salle University Medical School in Mexico City in 2000. He did his general surgery internship at the Mayo Clinic, and completed his general surgery residency at the University of Colorado in 2008. During this time, he also completed an NIH Basic Science Research Fellowship and received the University of Colorado's Ben Eiseman Basic Sciences Research Award. Dr. Escobar did his vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Michigan, and was named Top Gun Champion of the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery in 2009, and runner-up in 2010. He served on U-M's vascular surgery faculty until 2013, earning its Arnold G. Coran award for excellence in surgical teaching, as well as research awards from the Society of Vascular Surgery and the Vascular and Endovascular Surgical Society. From 2013-2017 he was at the University of Arkansas, where he received the Red Sash Teaching Award.
