About Dr. Hatcher-Martin

I am a clinician-scientist and an Assistant Professor in the Movement Disorders Division of Neurology at Emory University. I have been involved in neurodegenerative research since 1999, first with Alzheimer's disease and now with Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders. I have a special interest in using technology in medicine, teleneurology, and patientadvocacy as it relates to access to care – which can be improved via the use of telemedicine and mobile applications. I have created a telemedicine clinic for Movement Disorders patients including those with Parkinson's disease, parkinsonism, tremor, and Huntington's disease. This allows us to see patients at remote locations using audio and video. We currently see patients in LaGrange, GA with plans to expand to the North Georgia Mountains as well as south Georgia.

The telemedicine neurology clinic in LaGrange, GA, offers the ability of our providers to see patients remotely using audio and video equipment. Many patients have remarked on how nice it would be to use a video technology, such as FaceTime™ or Skype™, to see their providers, at least some of the time. Right now, Dr. Jaime Hatcher-Martin is the only provider for this clinic. You would go to the Emory Clark-Holder clinic in LaGrange. This is currently only available for patients that have already been seen at least once in person at the main Movement Disorders Clinic in Atlanta. Dr. Martin would examine you over computer using live audio and video instead of you driving all the way to Atlanta. As you might expect, there are some modifications that have to be made from the standard in-person exam but this is a safe way to receive care. If you have a copay for clinic, you would still be required to pay this for the visit. This could potentially take the place of a previously scheduled upcoming appointment if you desire.
