About Dr. Keilin

Dr. Steven Keilin grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and attended medical school at The University of Cincinnati. His interest in gastroenterology developed as a resident at Atlanta Medical Center. His passion for advanced endoscopic procedures and management of gastrointestinal cancers occurred during his fellowship at John H. Stroger Jr Hospital in Chicago. He returned to Atlanta in 2007 to join the gastroenterology department at Emory University.

He treats pancreatitis, pancreatic cysts, GERD, esophageal strictures, Barrett's esophagus, gastrointestinal bleeding, jaundice, bile duct stones and strictures, sphincter of oddi dysfunction, primary sclerosing cholangitis and achalasia. He also specializes in small bowel disorders and obscure GI bleeding, performing deep enteroscopy including both single and double balloon enteroscopy. Additionally, he performs several procedures that are not commonly offered at most centers, including POEM (per oral endoscopic myotomy) for Achalasia, G-POEM/POP (per oral pyloromyotomy) for gastroparesis, ESD (endoscopic submucosal dissection), cholangioscopy and sphincter of oddi manometry.

Dr. Keilin is the Director of the Pancreaticobiliary Service and Associate Director of the Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship program at Emory University. He was awarded the "GI Attending of the Year" award at Emory University Hospital in 2012. In 2015, Dr. Keilin was selected as a fellow in the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). Most recently, Dr. Keilin was selected as one of 20 gastroenterologists throughout the United States to participate in the GOLD (GI Organizational Leadership Development Program) by the ASGE.
