Frances Lee, MD

Dr. Frances Eun-Yun Lee is the director of the Asthma and Allergy Program at the Emory Clinic. She completed her undergraduate and medical training at Johns Hopkins University. She then completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center, followed by a Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at both Boston University and the University of Rochester. As a physician-scientist, her particular interests lie in understanding the immunology, particularly human plasma cell biology, of asthmatic and allergic disease. Clinically she focuses on the care of adults with moderate to severe asthma.

Dr. Shih is a physician and assistant professor in the Department of Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics at Emory University Hospital and Medical School. She practices Allergy and Immunology medicine at both The Emory Clinic (adult medicine clinics) and at Children’s Specialty Services.

Dr. Shih has conducted several presentations at national meetings in her field, her research interests including asthma, food allergies, transplant immunology and primary immunodeficiencies. She has lived in Atlanta for 5 years with her husband, twin daughters and dog. She enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and planning for her non-profit, which assists transplant patients.

Marissa R. Shams, MD Marissa R. Shams, MD – Dr. Shams joined the Allergy/Immunology practice at The Emory Clinic (Clifton Road) on Oct 1, 2014. An Atlanta native, she grew up in Sandy Springs, GA. She attained her bachelor of science degree in Biology, Honors Magna Cum Laude at University of Georgia. She graduated from medical school at Mercer University School of Medicine in 2009 and completed her internal medicine residency at Tulane University Hospital in New Orleans, LA. For her Allergy/Immunology fellowship, she returned to Atlanta to attend Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Shams is very involved in the Allergy/Immunology community. Currently she sits on the Executive Board of the Joint Council of Allergy, Asthma & Immunlogy and is the South FIT Representative for the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology. She is an active participant in Chrysalis Mentorship Project and Allergists for Israel. She has presented her research projects on the state, regional and national level and has conducted interviews with both CBSradio and NBC Today Show. Her interests include Urticaria, Hypersensitivity Disease, Asthma and Patient Adherence/Education. Outside of medicine, her interests include baking, traveling and yoga. She is an avid UGA Bulldog fan.
