Unique Training Program Shows Significant Improvement in Knowledge of Quality Principles by Healthcare Leaders
The effectiveness of a unique two-pronged educational program has shown significant improvements in knowledge of quality principles by leaders as well as the successful design and launch of QI (quality improvement) projects by frontline staff, according to results outlined in an article in the April 2011 issue of The Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety.

For the 13th straight year, Emory University Hospital has been recognized as one of the nation's top hospitals by the National Research Corporation's (NRC) Consumer Choice Awards. The award identifies hospitals chosen by healthcare consumers as having the highest quality and image in more than 300 markets throughout the U.S. This is the 15th year NRC has awarded hospitals whose consumers have recognized them for providing the highest quality healthcare.
Emory University Hospital Receives Hospital Consumer Assessments of Healthcare Providers and Systems "Likelihood to Recommend" Recognition
Emory University Hospital has been recognized by the Hospital Consumer Assessments of Healthcare Providers and Systems as being in the Top 10% for the “Likelihood to Recommend” global question for discharges from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009 (most recently reported by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services [CMS]). CMS developed this survey instrument to be used to collect information on hospital patients' perspectives of the care they received while in the hospital.
Emory Healthcare Honored for Employee Influenza Vaccination Program
Representatives from Georgia Medical Care Foundation (GMCF) recently honored Emory Healthcare for the system’s successful employee influenza vaccination program, which reached a 100 percent compliance rate for the 2009-2010 influenza season.
