General Rehabilitation Services
The General Rehabilitation Program is an acute rehabilitation program providing comprehensive, coordinated and integrated services to patients who present with trauma or disease resulting in a variety of conditions including amputation, cardiac dysfunction, cancer, neuromuscular and/or musculoskeletal disease, or any other debilitating injury or illness which meets the established admissions criteria. The purpose of the General Rehabilitation Program is to prevent and/or minimize chronic disability while improving overall health, physical, emotional, psychosocial, and leisure functions to an optimal level.
Our clinical program focuses on:
- Medical management
- Interdisciplinary treatment plans
- Strengthening and conditioning
- Pre-prosthetic and prosthetic fitting and training
- Early comprehensive discharge planning
- Community re-integration
- Wellness and prevention education
Admission criteria:
- At least 18 years of age
- A medical condition requiring an intensive rehabilitation program
- The ability to participate in at least three hours of therapy a day
- A support system committed to participating in decision making conferences and education
- An identified discharge plan
