Stroke Program

Recovering from a stroke can be a very difficult and challenging time for the stroke survivor, family and friends. The rehabilitation team at Emory is dedicated to working closely with the patient and family to regain the highest level of independence possible and to improving quality of life. During your stay at the Emory Center for Rehabilitation Medicine, you will be seen by an interdisciplinary team of specialists in stroke rehabilitation who will provide a comprehensive treatment based on the most up to date stroke research. We will help you achieve your personal and family goals for rehabilitation through an individualized treatment program designed to increase your independence in taking care of yourself, returning to work, and actively participating in your community.

Admission criteria:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a condition requiring a rehab program
  • Must have the ability to participate in at least three hours of therapy a day
  • Must have a support system of family or friends who are willing to particpate in education conference
  • Must have an identified discharge plan
