Amy Chen, MD, MPH, FACS

Dr. Chen is the Willard and Lillian Hackerman Professor of Otolaryngology and the director of Endocrine Surgery. Her expertise includes head and neck oncologic surgery and thyroid surgery. She is the founder of the Emory Head & Neck Multidisciplinary Tumor Conference.

The Road to Emory: Education

Dr. Chen joined the Emory faculty in 2001 after a three year fellowship in head and neck oncologic surgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She graduated from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and completed a residency in otolaryngology head and neck surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, also in Houston.


Dr. Chen has received numerous awards and honors, among them the Percy Memorial Research Award, the Rande Lazar Health Services Research Award, the American Head and Neck Society Scholarship Award, and The Women’s Fund for Health, Education and Research Grant.
