Volunteer Opportunities at Budd Terrace
Budd Terrace is a nursing home and provides sub-acute rehabilitation to Atlanta seniors. Volunteer opportunities include:
Exercise Program:
Lead residents in chair exercises to music. Training and an instruction book is provided. These are simple exercises, leg lifts, arm circles, etc.
Time: 1st; 4th & 5th Saturdays at 11:00 AM

Bingo:
Bingo is a serious game at Wesley Woods Center. We have all the prizes and equipment, all you need is a loud voice. Watch the fun.
Time: Tuesday night or Thursday afternoon or Saturday afternoon

Pet Therapy:
Do you have an adorable dog or cat? It’s very easy to have them certified as a therapy pet. Our residents miss the pets they once had. A pet visit works wonders for our residents, you and your pet as well. Most visits are one on one.

Entertainment:
Do you sing? Play an instrument? Part of a group? The residents love entertainment. Be part of the fun.

Traveling Goodies:
Take your rolling cart of goodies, (cookies, ice cream, etc.) and pass them among the residents. It’s a party on every floor.

Activity Assistant:
Assist the activity staff with resident activities.
Time: Weekdays 10– Noon and 2:30 – 4:30 pm

Alzheimer’s Unit:
Read, sing or walk with the residents. They also love to have their hands rubbed with lotion.

Friendly Visitor:
Do you like to talk to people? Comfort them? Make them smile? Residents love to be read to and discuss books. This really helps those who have trouble seeing stay active. Give a manicure. Great way to get some “one to one”. File and polish only. Don’t forget the lotion hand rub. This is very popular and lots of fun. We have residents who have no or few visitors. Make a friend. Enrich their lives.

Worship Service Assistant:
Help transport residents to services and assist the Chaplain.
Time: Sunday 10:30 am – Noon

Food & Nutrition:
Assist Staff with serving meals, table set up, food prep and other general tasks. Put away stock and remove trash.
Time: Monday - Thursday; 11 am - 6 pm
Assist every third Thursday of each month with escorting residents to and from a meeting.
Time: Third Thursday of each month; 9:30 am - 11:30 am
Fun & Games/Discussion Group:
Enjoy playing board games and quiz programs? Lead a group in Trivial Pursuit or Jeopardy. Talk about the topics.
Time: Thursday at 7 pm

Hair Salon:
Assist staff with escorting residents to and from the salon area. Light cleaning and sanitizing hair implements.
Times: Tuesday - Friday; 10 am - 4 pm
Special Projects / Holiday Events:
Volunteers are "on call" to participate with special projects or events held at Wesley Woods Center as individual schedules permit. Holiday Tree Lighting, Fall Festival, Resident Dinner and other community events provide excellent opportunities for volunteers to work a short time for a specific goal.
