Gary R. McGillivary Gary R. McGillivary, MD, is assistant professor of orthopedic surgery. A native of Nova Scotia, Canada, he is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS). Dr. McGillivary started practicing at Emory in 1997.

Dr. McGillivary coached high school lacrosse at Woodward Academy, his son's alma mater. He owns and trains German Shepherd Dogs and competes in Schutzhund,a sport in which the dogs compete in three disciplines: obedience, tracking, and protection work.
