Quality Outcomes
The latest release of the January 2012 center-specific report from the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR) confirms the continued excellent outcomes of the Emory Kidney Transplant Program:
- Emory’s one-year observed graft survival rate for deceased and living donor kidney transplants combined was 95.47% (93.27% risk adjusted expected), with a three-year graft survival rate of 89.29%. The three-year survival rate is statistically higher than the risk adjusted expected rate of 84.87% (p = 0.025).*
*One-year rates are based on the cohort of transplants performed 7/1/08 – 12/31/10; three-year rates are based on transplants performed 1/1/06 – 6/30/08 (www.srtr.org).

We are also proud to note that in 2011, the Emory transplant team performed 215 kidney — the largest number of transplants in the history of the program. And of the 215 kidney transplants, 31% (67) involved living donors.
