Quality Indicators
The latest release of the January 2012 center-specific report from the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR) confirms the continued excellent outcomes of the Emory Liver Transplant Program:
- Emory’s observed one-year patient survival rate for liver transplantation was 92.43%, with a graft survival rate of 88.21%, both of which are higher than the risk adjusted expected rates of 91.08% for patient survival and 87.72% for graft survival.*
*Results are based on the cohort of transplants performed 7/1/08 – 12/31/10 (www.srtr.org).

We are also proud to note that in 2011, the Emory transplant team performed 93 liver transplant procedures; with 50% of our patients receiving transplants within 2 months of listing; and 60% received a transplant within 4 months. Additionally, Emory is a destination center for the treatment of patients with complex liver disease (e.g., cholangiocarcinoma and HIV with liver disease) requiring transplantation.
