Quality Outcomes
The latest release of the January 2012 center-specific report from the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR) confirms the continued excellent outcomes of Emory’s Lung Transplant Program.
- Emory’s one-year observed patient survival rate for lung transplantation was 85.10%, with a graft survival rate of 82.35%, both of which are higher than the risk adjusted expected rates of 83.93% for patient survival and 81.65% for graft survival.*
*Results are based on the cohort of transplants performed 7/1/08 – 12/31/10 (www.srtr.org).

In 2011, the Emory team performed 29 adult lung transplants, with half of our patients receiving a transplant within 3.8 months of being placed on the waiting list. Nationally, it took 4.7 months to reach the same fraction of patients transplanted.
