About Dr. Nieh

Dr. Nieh is an Associate Professor of Urology at Emory University School of Medicine, practicing at The Emory Clinic and Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital.

Dr. Nieh received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in New York.  He did his General Surgery training at the Massachusetts General Hospital.  He obtained his Urology residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. He has held faculty positions at Massachusetts General Hospital, University of Connecticut, and Lahey Clinic prior to joining Emory in 2003. Dr. Nieh is a diplomate of The American Board of Urology (1980), member of the American Urological Association (1981), and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (1983).

Dr. Nieh serves on the Urology Curriculum Committee and the Search Committee for Chair of Urologic Research at Emory Department of Urology, and the Emory University Hospital Cancer Committee.

Dr. Nieh’s clinical and research interests include urological oncology, urinary diversion, cryotherapy, stones, endourology, and minimally invasive surgery.  He coordinates and directs the monthly Genito-urinary Tumor Board; a multidisciplinary meeting to discuss newly diagnosed urologic cancers. He has been involved in teaching and mentoring medical students and urology residents. He has authored book chapters and scientific journal articles on urologic cancers.
