Share Your Passion. Shape the Health of Communities.

Advanced practice providers (APPs) at Emory Healthcare have the opportunity and ability to do more than care for patients. Here, you’ll be part of a group that’s 1,000 strong. And one that shares the same drive and passion for improving the lives of patients and delivering the latest innovations in health care.

Our APPs work across our system – at leading hospitals, ambulatory centers, and community-based offices – to shape and support the high-quality care our patients expect from us.

APPs at Emory include:

  • Advanced practice registered nurse (APRN)
  • Anesthesiologist assistant (AA)
  • Certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA)
  • Certified nurse midwife (CNM)
  • Nurse practitioner (NP)
  • Physician assistant (PA)

Why Choose Us?

As an APP, you’ll enjoy an independent yet collaborative career: One that allows you to practice the full extent of your licensure while working alongside, and learning from, leaders across specialized fields.

Complex, Award-Winning Care

We're a well-known leader in advancing health care across all disciplines, from primary care to complex neurosurgery. Because of this national recognition, you have the opportunity to work in highly specialized fields and deliver innovative care, including:

  • Exceptional care for the critically ill. With more than 40 intensivists, 450 critical care nurses, and 60 APPs, the Critical Care Centers at three of our six hospitals deliver specialized care for patients. Now, with our innovative approach to eICU, we're supporting more patients than ever before.
  • Imagining a better tomorrow for cancer patients. The Winship Cancer Institute at Emory Healthcare is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center. Every day, our physicians, specialists, researchers and APPs are taking research from the bench to the bedside to deliver better outcomes for our patients.
  • Internationally recognized neurosurgeons. Emory's multi-disciplinary neurosurgery team treats problems of the brain, spine, and nerves, including diagnosing and treating complicated neurological conditions, such as stroke, epilepsy, brain tumors, and more.
  • Robust transplant program. As one of the best organ transplant programs in the Southeast, patients, and families visit us from across the nation for our full-service, nationally recognized transplant programs, including heart, kidney, liver, lung, and pancreas transplant programs.

Continuing Education, Consistent Excellence

When you choose a career in medicine, you commit to continually learning, evolving, and becoming better both personally and professionally. That’s why at Emory, learning is encouraged, supported, and celebrated. Our APPs can take advantage of many educational and leadership opportunities, including:

  • APP Council: Provides leadership, feedback, and involvement across the entire organization.
  • Continuing education programs: Continuing education opportunities allow you to advance your knowledge and skills.
  • Mentoring opportunities: Through preceptor programs, you can help support the next generation of healthcare providers and advance your own practice.

Most importantly, we’re here to help you succeed. You’ll find a robust APP leadership structure at Emory — one designed to make sure we hear your voice, needs, and wants at every level of our organization. And because you’ll report directly to an APP, you can be confident you’ll have clarity, understanding, and support throughout your career. We also have a vigorous transition to practice program to ensure a successful transition of new providers into our healthcare family.
