About Dr. Drori

Jonathan Drori, MD is a dedicated primary care physician who has expertise treating a wide range of illnesses and conditions. Board certified in internal medicine, he has been practicing with Emory Saint Joseph’s Primary Care since 2015, where he helps patients ages 18 and older return to health and stay as healthy as possible for the long term.

Forming Relationships
For Dr. Drori, medicine is about relationships. He chose primary care because of the broad range of health conditions it involves and the variety of patients he gets to know. He enjoys seeing patients and their families over time, which helps him better understand their health risks. He also makes each appointment an opportunity for his patients to speak freely about their concerns and takes time to explain medical issues in a clear, understandable manner.

Love of Science and Technology
While Dr. Drori’s first concern is his patients, he retains his love for the scientific underpinnings of practicing primary care medicine. That includes the biological roots of diseases and conditions, and also technology. Dr. Drori grew up in the Silicon Valley and had an early interest in that area. Today he retains an interest in technology as applied to medical information.

Dr. Drori has taken part in research into specific aspects of HIV and the herpes viruses, as well as asthma in children. He contributed to research reports in professional journals such as Pediatric Allergy, Immunology, and Pulmonology and Narrative Inquiry in Bioethics: A Journal of Qualitative Research. Dr. Drori and his research team presented a report on asthma treatments for children at the 2014 annual conference of the American Academy of Allergy Asthma & Immunology.

An International Education

Dr. Drori earned his undergraduate degree in microbiology, immunology and molecular genetics from University of California, Los Angeles. He then completed his medical degree at the Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel. Dr. Drori speaks fluent Hebrew. He returned to the U.S. for his internal medicine residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Delivering Excellent Primary Care Medicine

Dr. Drori works hard to provide individualized care. The relationship he forms with each of his patients helps him make personalized suggestions for lifestyle changes that can improve health — but this is always a two-way conversation. He listens carefully and appreciates the challenges that can get in the way of a healthy lifestyle. For Dr. Drori, his patients are always part of their own health care team.

Dr. Drori’s goal is to continue delivering excellent local primary care to his patients while at the same time balancing his busy home life — he is married and has two young children. In his spare time, he enjoys being at home with his family and playing with his kids.
