About Dr. Haider

Hiba A. Haider, MD, FACNS is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Emory University School of Medicine. She is board-certified in Neurology and Epilepsy by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Haider completed her neurology residency and clinical neurophysiology fellowship at Emory. Before coming to Emory, she was an Associate Research Scientist in Neurology and Epilepsy at the Columbia University Medical Center. There, she was involved with the formation of the Critical Care EEG Monitoring and Research Consortium (CCEMRC), a multicenter infrastructure for the advancement of collaborative research in critical care EEG.

Dr. Haider is the director of the Emory Post-Acute Symptomatic Seizure (E-PASS) clinic and the Critical Care Ischemia Monitoring Service at Emory University Hospital.

Dr. Haider was named a Fellow of the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society and has been the recipient of Young Investigator awards from the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society and the American Epilepsy Society. She also received the Distinguished Emory Neurology Faculty in Service Award in 2018. Her academic interests span all aspects of critical care EEG monitoring, particularly the use of quantitative EEG methods, cerebral ischemia monitoring, as well as quality improvement and outcomes in status epilepticus. She is co-editor of the Handbook of ICU EEG, and speaks nationally and internationally on the subject.
