About Dr. Lambert

Scott Lambert, MD, joined the Emory Eye Center in 1988. His clinical interests include the broad spectrum of ocular diseases that occur in children as well as the treatment of strabismus in adults. He has a special interest in the treatment of cataracts in children.

He served as the national chair of The Infant Aphakia Treatment Study (IATS), a study comparing the use of contact lenses versus intraocular lenses to provide infants optimal vision following cataract surgery on unilateral congential cataract. He also chaired the pediatric Ophthalmic Technology Assessment Committee for the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). He served on the advisory board for the Pediatric Cataract Initiative for the Lions Club International Foundation and the editorial board for the Journal of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.

He is a an international educator and frequent guest lecturer and invited speaker. His lectureships, visiting professorships and seminar invitations include Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD; Cambridge University, Cambridge, England; the Royal Free Hospital, London, England; Albert Einstein University, New York, NY; and the European Pediatric Ophthalmological Society conference, Greece. He was a recent guest lecturer at Tianjin Eye Hospital in Tianjin, China and the International Pediatric Congenital Cataract Symposium, held in New York, NY.
