About Dr. Mizrahi

For Dr. Nelly Mizrahi, helping patients was part of growing up. She went with her physician father on hospital rounds in her home town of Caracas, Venezuela, and was inspired by the problem-solving aspects of medicine. She was also attracted to improving the well-being of patients.

After training as a surgeon she realized her true passion was to become a primary care physician. She completed her residency in family medicine in 2006 and has been helping individuals and families improve their health ever since.

Years of Experience
Dr. Mizrahi began her training at the Central University of Venezuela, which is one of the oldest and most highly regarded institutions in the western hemisphere. She also completed a residency in general surgery there, and then came to the U.S. for a research fellowship at Cleveland Clinic in Florida.

Dr. Mizrahi completed her family medicine residency at Atlanta Medical Center and broadened her training by studying hyperbaric medicine and wound healing in Columbus, Ohio.

Dr. Mizrahi is board certified in family medicine, and began working at Emory Primary Care in 2010. Prior to that, she practiced with Boyle and Toth Family Medicine. She has also been a member of Northeast Georgia Physicians Group and Northeast Georgia Medical Center. She has been lead author or contributing author on a number of research reports in professional journals. She also did podium presentations at the 2001 annual meeting of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.

Commitment to Service and Family
As a fluent Spanish speaker, Dr. Mizrahi has a broad range of opportunities to help diverse populations. She is generous with her time and has volunteered with organizations such as the Good News Clinic in Gainesville, Georgia, and the Latin-American Association Health Fair in Atlanta. She has also donated her time and services to the Atlanta Medical Center Family Medicine Health Fair, the Good Shepherd Clinic in Morrow, Georgia, and Clinica de la Mama in Forest Park, Georgia.

Dr. Mizrahi is dedicated to helping her Emory Primary Care patients live the healthiest and fullest lives possible.

When she’s not working with her patients, Dr. Mizrahi spends time with her husband and two active boys, especially at the beach. She loves watching her boys play baseball and soccer, and she also enjoys cooking and experimenting with new foods. Dr. Mizrahi stays healthy with yoga and tries to find time to relax with a good book.
