About Dr. Sebastian

Originally from Augusta, GA, Dr. Sebastian attended Boston University's Seven Year Medical Program. After graduation, she completed an Internal Medicine residency at Emory University in Atlanta, GA followed by a Gastroenterology fellowship at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH.

She ultimately returned to Emory University where she has been on faculty since 2012 as a general gastroenterologist with a special interest in functional disorders and women's health. Dr. Sebastian practices at both Emory's main campus as well as Emory Saint Joseph's where she is a member of the Women's Clinic. She initiated a breath testing program in 2015 to better evaluate small intestinal bacterial overgrowth and carbohydrate malabsorption. She is currently interested in establishing integrated care for functional disorders to encompass GI, psychology, and nutrition.

Dr. Sebastian is interested in the education of the medical students and serves as co-director of the annual GI module for first-year medical students. She serves on the American College of Gastroenterology national committee for Women in GI, where she chairs the subcommittee for the Education and Promotion of Colorectal Cancer Screening in Women.
