Pharmacy Residency Application Instructions

To apply for any of our pharmacy residency programs, you must enroll in the ASHP matching program. You will submit all required information via PhORCAS by the posted deadline. Your application is not complete until you upload all the required information.

Required Documents

Please submit the following documents using PhORCAS:

  • Completed PhORCAS application
  • Cover letter
  • Curriculum vitae, including schools and universities, degrees conferred or anticipated, employment history, honors and awards, rotation experiences, research or teaching experiences, extracurricular activities and other pertinent information
  • Three recommendations, with at least one from a clinical APPE rotation preceptor (or residency preceptor for PGY2). Reference writers should comment on at least 50 percent of the narrative sections in PhORCAS.
  • Transcripts

Address your cover letter to the program director, and please include the following information:

  • Reasons you are pursuing residency training
  • Specific reasons you’re interested in the pharmacy residency program at Emory University Hospital Midtown
  • Your short and long-term professional goals

Supplemental application

If you are applying to the post-graduate year one (PGY-1) program, you’ll also need to complete a supplemental application. You will submit this information via PhORCAS.

If you are applying to the PGY-1 Specialty or PGY-1/2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) program, you do not need to complete the supplemental application.

Please note: This page is for programs located ONLY at Emory University Hospital Midtown. Residency programs at other Emory facilities have different requirements. Please read all the application instructions prior to submitting your application. If you do not follow instructions, your application will not be reviewed.
