Externship Listing

AuD Externship Program at Emory Midtown Audiology

In order to become an audiologist, candidates complete a four year, Doctorate of Audiology (AuD), post-Bachelors degree, consisting of clinical rotations and lecture. The last year of this AuD is called an externship and allows the student to be completely immersed in a clinical setting, typically from June to May graduation of the next year, aiming towards clinical independence by the end of the year. At Emory Audiology, we are proud to offer a one-year externship to help shape the future of audiology and enrich our program, keeping our team fresh and on the edge of the latest testing and treatment techniques.

Emory University Healthcare Midtown is located in the heart of Atlanta, providing services to much of the Southeast. Our practice has a staff of over 100, with disciplines in otology, audiology, rhinology, laryngology, and speech/voice. The audiology department has ten full time audiologists and an audiology assistant. Our practice provides audiological evaluation services, as well as, hearing aids, BAHS, and cochlear implants. We work with all manufacturers and aim to give our students a myriad of experiences that will set them up for success in their future careers.

Our practice regularly completes audiological assessments and hearing aid/BAHA/Ponto/Osia/BoneBridge evaluations and fittings, as well as, cochlear implant evaluation and mapping with all three CI manufacturers.  Benefits for extern students include salary, health insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, and paid parking.
