Radiology Diagnostic

Neuroradiology

The Division of Neuroradiology provides subspecialty expertise in diagnostic imaging of the brain, spine, and otolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat) related diseases in both adults and children. All our board-certified radiologists are Neuroradiology fellowship trained and are integral members of the healthcare team at Emory.

The division also performs a variety of image-guided procedures, including fluoroscopic (x-ray)-guided lumbar puncture, myelography (CT and MRI), CT-guided blood patches for cerebrospinal leak, and ultrasound- and CT-guided head and neck biopsies.

Interventional Neuroradiology functions as a separate division for diagnostic and interventional cerebral and spinal angiography.

Key Procedures

  • CT – Computed Tomography of the Brain, Spine, Sinuses, Face, Temporal Bones, and Neck
  • CTA – Computed Tomography Angiography of the Brain and Neck
  • CTP – Computed Tomography Perfusion
  • MRI – Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Brain, Spine, Sinuses, Face, Temporal Bones, Neck, Temporomandibular Joint, and Brachial Plexus
  • MRA – Magnetic Resonance Angiography of the Brain, Neck, and Spine, including time-resolved (4D) MRA
  • fMRI - Clinical functional MRI (fMRI) for presurgical planning
  • Advanced MRI techniques including MR Perfusion, Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI),and MR Spectroscopy (MRS)

The Key Imaging Guided Procedures include:
