What is Radiation Therapy?

Radiation therapy shrinks tumors and kills cancer cells using high-energy waves. About two-thirds of those diagnosed with cancer will receive radiation therapy. Radiation may be the only treatment used, or it may be combined with other therapies like chemotherapy or surgery.
