Referrals

Please be aware that your insurance plan may define and/or limit the facilities you may use or the specialists you may see. Within our control, we will do what we can to accommodate your wishes. Most insurance companies require an office visit about the condition for which you need a referral. If your insurance requires a referral to see a specialist (non-emergency), we must have 2-5 days to meet their requirements. We are generally unable to give same-day referrals.

Lab Results

Your normal lab results will be reported to you within two weeks. We will contact you immediately if you have abnormal laboratory results that require a change in your care. Labs can only be done with orders from a physician. Patients who would like certain labs done should make an appointment with their doctor.

Prescription Refills

Calls for routine prescription refills may take 24 hours to be called in. Please have your pharmacy fax a request to 678-495-2846. It is, however, always best to have an office visit whenever possible. This is in the interest of your best medical care. Please make every effort to ask for your routine refills during your office visits and bring your medicines with you. Antibiotic and narcotic prescription refills do require an office visit.

Medication prior authorizations may take up to one month for insurance approval. We will make every effort to speed this process, but it is usually outside of our control.

On-call physicians will not take any calls for prescription refills at night or on weekends. If you require a written prescription (for mail-order prescription services, etc.), please ask for these during a scheduled appointment.
