Neurosurgery Second Opinion Process
Our team of surgeons and neuroradiologists provides comprehensive and detailed second opinions about your neurologic condition or injury. We complete the process remotely. This makes it easy and convenient for you.
The Neurosurgery Second Opinion Program gives you access to our internationally recognized doctors from the comfort of your home.
Here’s how it works:
Step 2: A coordinator contacts you to answer your questions and walk you through the items we need to complete your second opinion. Those items include:
- Medical records pertaining to your diagnosis
- Recent imaging
- Referral from a treating physician (may not be needed based on the state you reside in)
- Completed second opinion questionnaire
- Signed consent form: Georgia resident or non-Georgia residents
The fee for a remote second opinion is $500. Please note that most insurance plans will not cover the cost of a remote second opinion.
We give you instructions on how to upload medical records and images.
Step 3: Once we receive your record, an Emory neurosurgeon and/or neuroradiologist will review your case.
Step 4: We give you a written second opinion report within seven to 10 business days. Your report will include an assessment and recommendations based on your records and imaging.
