Community Impact

Emory Healthcare, serves our community and advances the future of health care. Through community partnerships, patient-focused care and innovative research, we improve health care in Georgia and across the globe.

Charitable Care

We offer unparalleled care to every patient, regardless of their ability to pay. We provide almost $50 million of charity care to patients facing severe illness or financial hardship each year. Our doors are open to the almost 1.7 million Georgians without health insurance who need help.

Community Partnerships

Emory Healthcare teams up with organizations throughout Georgia to offer affordable care.

Urgent Care

Do you have a non-life-threatening medical condition or injury that requires immediate medical attention? You might be thinking: “Do I go to urgent care or a walk-in clinic? Do I visit my primary care physician or emergency room?” The Emory Healthcare Network partners with Peachtree Immediate Care Urgent Care and CVS MinuteClinic to give you the immediate care you need. Combined, our urgent care and retail clinic partners provide nearly 60 locations throughout metro Atlanta and surrounding counties. This puts immediate care where you need it, 7 days a week for most of the year.

Choosing an urgent care provider or walk-in clinic instead of the emergency room can save you time and money when you’re not feeling well or can’t wait for an appointment with your primary care physician. Not sure where to go? Follow our guide below to make the right choice.

Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center (AVAMC)

We’ve partnered with Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center (AVAMC) for more than 60 years to care for more than 60,000 veterans. Nearly 400 Emory physicians and residents treat patients at AVAMC, giving veterans the outstanding health care they deserve. AVAMC is the largest VA facility in the Southeast and one of the top VA centers for research. Last year, Emory and AVAMC completed more than 500 research projects. Research ranged from diabetes and drug addiction to cancer, HIV/AIDS, depression, hypertension and dementia.
