Our Nurses Define the Highest Standard of Care

When we work together, our efforts make a difference that can be felt across the state. We are the most comprehensive academic health system in Georgia and the only one with four Magnet®-designated hospitals.Magnet designation logoIn 2020, Emory Johns Creek Hospital (EJCH) achieved Magnet recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to reflect its nursing professionalism, teamwork, and superiority in patient care. With EJCH's achievement, Emory Healthcare is the only health system in Georgia with four Magnet-designated hospitals. Emory University Orthopaedics and Spine Hospital (EUOSH) received its first designation in 2016, and Emory University Hospital received its second Magnet designation in 2018. Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital has been recognized as a Magnet hospital since 1995 and earned its sixth straight Magnet designation in 2019 making it the first community hospital in the world to earn six consecutive designations. Emory Johns Creek Hospital received its first Magnet designation in 2020.

The Magnet Model forms the foundation for nursing practice at Emory Healthcare. As an academic health system, the care we provide for our patients benefits directly from medical research and education. Our nurses are integral members of interprofessional teams in hospitals and clinics committed to outstanding patient care. And, because we believe world-class nursing deserves world-class compensation, we have recently redesigned our nursing compensation structure to support that excellence.
