Neurosurgery Second Opinion Program

Welcome
Emory’s Neurosurgery Second Opinion Program offers you access to a team of internationally recognized surgeons and neuro-radiologists without leaving your home. After being diagnosed with a brain or spine condition, you may be frightened, anxious and have questions regarding your next steps in care. Getting a second opinion can help you make important treatment decisions and can provide peace of mind.
If you have received a diagnosis or recommendation for treatment and want another opinion, our program can help you make a more informed decision. Getting a second opinion from us is easy, convenient, and all done remotely.
How it Works
Please note that most insurance plans will not cover the cost of a remote second opinion. The fee for a remote second opinion is $500.Step 1: Call 404-778-5770 or fill out our online form.
Step 2: A coordinator will contact you to answer any questions you may have and walk you through the items needed for us to complete your second opinion.
- Medical records pertaining to your diagnosis
- Recent imaging
- Referral from a treating physician (May not be needed based on the state you reside in)
- Completed second opinion questionnaire
- Signed consent form: Georgia resident or non-Georgia residents
- Payment
Step 3: Once these items have been received, an Emory neurosurgeon and/or neuroradiologist will review your case.
Step 4: You will be provided with a written second opinion report within 7 – 10 business days. Your report will include an assessment and recommendations based on the records and imaging provided.
