Wisdom Tooth Free Recipes

Once you're wisdom tooth free, enjoy these delicious and healthy treats—after surgery or anytime!

Blueberry Wake Up Shake

  • 1 Cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • ½ Cup ice cubes
  • 2 Tablespoons slivered almonds
  • 1 Tablespoon honey
  • 1 6-ounce container low-fat vanilla yogurt
  • 1 Small banana
  • 2 Tablespoons low-fat granola without raisins (such as Kellogg's)

Combine blueberries and next 5 ingredients in a blender; process until smooth. Divide evenly between 2 glasses; top each servings with 1 tablespoon granola. Serve immediately.

Yield: 2 servings (serving size: 1 cup)

Chocolate-Peanut Butter-Banana Smoothie

  • 1 Cup vanilla low-fat yogurt
  • ¾ Cup crushed ice
  • 1 Tablespoon creamy peanut butter
  • 1 (1.26-ounce) packet milk chocolate instant breakfast drink mix (we used Carnation Instant Breakfast Essentials Complete Nutritional Drink)
  • 1 Medium banana (about 5 ounces), broken into chunks

Combine all ingredients in container of blender; cover and process until smooth. Serve immediately, or cover and freeze.

Yield: 2 servings (serving size: 1 cup)

Honey-Ginger Yogurt Dip

Take a moment to savor the flavor of this refreshing Honey-Ginger Yogurt Dip with one of your favorite fruits.

  • 4 ounces nonfat cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup plain nonfat yogurt
  • 2 Tablespoons honey
  • 2 Tablespoons grated fresh ginger from a 2–inch piece of ginger root
  • Grated zest of a lime
  • 2 Tablespoons lime juice

In a bowl, whisk softened cream cheese with a hand mixer until fluffy. Add yogurt and mix until combined. Trim away the outer peel of a two-inch piece of ginger root with a vegetable peeler or paring knife. Use a microplane grater to grate the ginger root. Whisk the ginger root, honey and lime juice into the yogurt mixture. Fold in the grated lime zest.

Serve with sliced bananas, or pears. Makes about 1 pint.
