Quality Outcomes

The Emory Transplant Center is proud to share with you the continued excellent outcomes of our Kidney-Pancreas Transplant Program, based on data through January 2013.

The Kidney-Pancreas Transplant Program at Emory has one of the best transplant survival rates in the nation. Emory’s one-year patient survival rate for kidney/pancreas transplantation is 94.12%, with a graft survival rate of 94.12% for kidney and 88.24% for pancreas.

*Results are based on the cohort of transplants performed 01/01/10 – 06/30/12.

Current research underway at Emory includes identifying methods for improving patient outcomes for pancreas transplant recipients – examining the use of the drug cyclosporine as well as newer drugs such as anti-T-cell agents, novel surgical techniques, and the selection of healthier transplant recipients.
