Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is a common circulatory problem where narrowed arteries decrease blood flow to the limbs. PAD prevents the legs or arms from receiving enough blood flow to keep up with demand. This may cause symptoms, such as leg pain when walking (claudication). PAD is also likely a sign of a buildup of fatty deposits in the arteries (atherosclerosis).
