Rapid identification of individuals with possible risk of EVD followed by donning of personal protective equipment and isolation of patients for detailed risk assessment are important elements of a system to proactively manage patients at the point of first interaction. Screening processes should be in place in Emergency Departments, Ambulatory Clinics, Labor and Delivery, and at any point of entry into the health care system. This section provides tools and protocols for triage of patients to quickly identify individuals who require a more detailed risk assessment, while ensuring the safety of the care team.
