About Dr. Abdulbaaqee

Dr. Nailah Abdulbaaqee (pronounced abdul-baa-key) is a board certified family physician offering personalized primary care encompassing adolescent, adult and geriatric populations (aged 15+). She welcomes all demographics without exclusion, including assisted living/nursing home residents, LGBTQ and special needs populations, to the Emory Primary Care Clinic at 1570 Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell for acute, preventative, wellness and chronic medical care.

"Dr. Nailah" (as her patients call her)treats acute medical needs such as cold and flu symptoms, asthma/COPD exacerbations and skin disorders. She also assists patients with the management of chronic medical conditions including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, mood conditions and other chronic comorbidities. Dr. Abdulbaaqee provides family planning, pelvic exams, prostate exams, general preventative health screenings and limited minor procedures (e.g. incision and drainage). She also co-manages with specialists for specified conditions like ADD/ADHD and mood disorders. And while respectful of all forms of pain management, Dr. Abdulbaaqee prefers not to prescribe controlled substances.

Her  General Approach To Primary Care

Dr. Abdulbaaqee dreamed of becoming a doctor when she was a child. Her empathetic approach and commitment to patient advocacy has proven that her choice to become a primary care physician was a natural fit.

Dr. Abdulbaaqee wants her patients to feel comfortable expressing their opinions and to actively participate in decisions regarding their own health. She practices careful listening by cuing into what patients are saying—and, sometimes more importantly, what they're not saying. Dr. Abdulbaaqee asks a lot of lifestyle questions and wants patients to do the same. With open dialogue, she is able to attain a better overall picture of their health, which enables her to provide more personalized care.

As a primary care physician, Dr. Abdulbaaqee's role is to assist patients in realizing they have the capacity and ability to overcome barriers and control more of their outcomes than they might think. She encourages patients to appreciate where they are in the present and then provides realistic guidance to help them achieve the goals they have for the future. She isn't intimidated by non-conventional approaches to managing health. She feels that with a holistic mindset there are unlimited ways to improve health without losing a person's unique essence. It is possible to enjoy life while taking care of oneself.
