Dr. John C Lisko, III is an interventional cardiologist at Emory, specializing in coronary and structural heart interventions. Originally from Northeast Ohio, Dr. Lisko relocated to Atlanta to pursue advanced training and has since become a dedicated member of the Emory cardiology team. With a strong foundation in both clinical practice and academic research, Dr. Lisko is committed to providing patients with the highest level of care and building lasting, meaningful relationships.
Dr. Lisko earned distinction as the Outstanding Student in Internal Medicine and Outstanding Master of Public Health Student at Northeast Ohio Medical University. After completing an internal medicine residency at Emory University, he was selected for the Academic Clinical Investigator Pathway Fellowship, a program that blends four years of clinical and research training. This unique opportunity allowed him to focus deeply on advanced cardiovascular care while conducting impactful research in structural heart disease and collaborate extensively with the National Institutes of Health (NIH), publishing numerous articles in high impact journals that advanced treatment options and improved patient outcomes in structural heart disease.
After two years of research, Dr. Lisko completed a two-year clinical cardiology fellowship at Emory, where he was recognized with the Most Outstanding Fellow Award. He assumed the role of Chief Interventional Cardiology Fellow while training in coronary intervention and completed a year of advanced structural intervention at the Emory Structural Heart and Valve center.
Dr. Lisko places a strong emphasis on building trust and forming meaningful relationships with patients. Treating each patient with the same care and respect as a family member is central to his philosophy, ensuring that individuals feel heard, understood, and supported throughout their care journey by developing personalized treatment plans that align with their unique needs, values, and goals.
