Alicia Bonanno, MD, is an assistant professor of Surgery in the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department and practices at Emory University Hospital Midtown and Grady Memorial Hospital. She completed her medical degree at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina. She then completed her general surgery residency at Oregon Health and Science University. Following residency, she completed her cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Emory University, after which she joined as faculty.
Dr. Bonanno's primary clinical focus is general thoracic surgery with particular interest in thoracic oncology, esophageal surgery, and robotic thoracic surgery. She is currently an associate program director for the cardiothoracic surgery residency at Emory University. Her research interests include surgical education research and outcomes in thoracic oncology.
