Ankit Parikh, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and sees cardiology patients at Emory University Hospital Midtown and the Emory Clinic at Smyrna.
Dr. Parikh is originally from Kingston, New York, and earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from New York University. He continued his training at New York University, completing his Internal Medicine residency where he was selected as a Chief Resident. Dr. Parikh then received his Cardiology fellowship training at Emory University School of Medicine from 2012-2015. He subsequently served in private practice as a general cardiologist in St. Petersburg, Florida, prior to returning to Emory in 2018 as a faculty member.
He advises patients to be actively involved in their health-related decisions, and takes time to make all the new information as understandable as possible. “I try to explain diagnostic and treatment options clearly so that patients can understand what choices are available, and understand the rationale behind those choices.”
Says Dr. Parikh, “Many decisions in cardiology are not easy or straightforward, but I hope to make some of those decisions clearer and hope to be able to guide patients toward their optimal health goals.”
