Cassidy M. Foley Davelaar, DO, FAAP, CAQSM is a sports medicine physician double-boarded in Pediatrics and Sports Medicine and an Associate Professor at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine (UCFCOM). Her research focuses on female athletes, relative energy deficiency in sport, young elite athletes, tennis athletes, sports attrition, fundamental movement skills and slipping rib syndrome. Dr. Foley educates future generations of physician researchers through the Focused Individualized Research Experience at UCFCOM. She is an active member of national organizations, including the Council of Sports Medicine and Fitness at the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine, and Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine. She is also currently on the Sports Science Committee for the United States Tennis Association (USTA). She provides coverage for the USTA National Campus and Lake Nona High School, and she has been a physician for the US Open, Atlanta Ballet, Boston Ballet, Northeastern University, and the Boston Marathon. She plays an active role in research and education by presenting abstracts and posters, guest lecturing, publishing, and working with the media on topics of interest in pediatric sports medicine. She is the recipient of awards for her research and two grants.
