About

Charisma Manley, MD, is a maternal and fetal medicine specialist with Emory Perinatal Center. The daughter of a doctor, she continues a family legacy of caring for others, which her pediatrician mother started.

While in medical school, Dr. Maley remembers her professors telling her that you could tell what was going on with a patient by listening carefully to them. Complex imaging studies and labs aren’t always necessary, they said. Now, as a practicing physician, she prioritizes connecting with those she cares for and listening to their stories.

Being part of Emory Healthcare, she knows her patients have access to the latest medical advances and any specialized care they might need. But she encourages everyone she sees to focus on wellness. She says that eating right, exercising, taking your medication, and working with your provider can do wonders for your health.

Dr Charisma Manley was phenomenal, professional, passionate and patient. Being seen by HER was night and day compared to the previous Emory provider at Midtown.

There was a conversation about my early induction, and 2 doctors (OB and MFM) have now asked me what my preference is. However, during the conversation on this visit, it sounded like to reduce any risk of complications it wasn't really a preference thing. To this day I haven't received a medical recommendation to reduce the risk of complications, and it is making me anxious. I appreciate my preferences being considered, but I also look to medical professionals to provide an unbiased, science-based recommendation that I can consider.

Dr. Manley was absolutely phenomenal. We received an unexpected result during a routine scan which turned out to be quite emotionally challenging. Dr. Manley was so kind, incredibly patient, answered all our questions (and we had MANY), and made us feel like we were her only patients. She was well versed in the latest practice guidelines and used data driven research to discuss our next steps with us. Overall, we could not be more pleased with the care we received from her. It is extremely evident she cares about her patients, making them feel supported and heard. Her bedside manner is outstanding - from little things like introducing herself and other staff members, to keeping us in the loop with everything going on. Dr. Manley went above and beyond to make a stressful situation as manageable as possible. While receiving unexpected news is never easy, having Dr. Manley as our specialist was a silver lining. We are so lucky to have her during this time!

Terrible! Dr did everything to push on me a C-section when it wasn't necessary and she wasn't from the OB department to do so.

Dr. Manly has been great each time we've seen her. She actually listens to and cares about our concerns
