Christopher Ronnie Tomaras, MD

Christopher Tomaras, MD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon at Axion Spine & Neurosurgery in the Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan area. With over 20 years of experience, he specializes in spinal surgery and is known for his patient-centered care and compassionate approach.

Dr. Tomaras earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, graduating with highest honors and membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed a general surgery internship under world-renowned heart surgeon Dr. Michael DeBakey and a neurosurgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

Board-certified since 2001, Dr. Tomaras has led advancements in neurosurgical care, including navigational robotic spine surgery. He has served as a principal investigator for multiple cervical disc replacement studies and was a contributor to the first publication documenting cervical spine surgery in an outpatient setting.
