About

Danielle Garner is a nurse practitioner in Decatur, Georgia. She sees adult patients for Emory Healthcare in Clinic A on 1365 Clifton Road. She speacilizes in endocrinology, seeing diabetic patients only, and helps her patients understand how everyday behaviors and lifestyle choices affect diabetes.
Originally from Tenessee, Danielle attended East Tenessee State University in Johnson City, Tenessee. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and began her career as a registered nurse in Maryland at Johns Hopkins Hospital in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. After several years and brutal winters, she decided to expand her career and ventured into traveling nursing. She spent four years traveling to level one trauma centers and large regional hospitals.
In 2008, she decided to make Atlanta her home. She had worked at Emory while traveling and began to explore job opportunities within the Emory system. After an extensive job search, she decided to apply for a job at Emory Orthopaedic and Spine Hospital. This would be a new experience for her because most of her career had been spent in intensive care. While enjoying her time there, she decided to pursue her masters degree and enrolled in The University of Cincinnati Family Nurse Practitioner program. In 2013 she returned back to Emory as a family nurse practitioner in endocrinology.

PA was late for our zoom call by over 10 minutes, I never had the impression she knew or reviewed my history, although she did go over my meds. For example, I have had urology issues with UTIs and wondered if this made a difference with Mounjaro.

Danielle NP was amazing. She is thorough and she explained what changes I needed to make in order to get the best results out of my pump. She also took it upon herself to call the manufacturer of my pump to ask them a question and sh got back to me immediately with the answer. It is clear that she loves what she does and cares about her patients.

Garner didn't discuss any proposed treatment. In fact, after testing the (fairly bad) neuropathy in my feet, she said they don't do anything while the patient still has any sensation. Right after I told her I wear a CGM, she wanted to know why I didn't bring in my meter. Then she assumed I used a FreeStyle Libre. She had my record open and should have known that I use the Dexcom 6. She didn't seem to have read ANYTHING in my records, including the information that was gathered in the e-check-in procedure. I told her that I forget to take Ozempic weekly and she accused me of not taking the metformin. I absolutely hate having to interact with Garner at any time.

3 out of 5 Reviewed on 2024-06-14

The NP wanted to prescribe me Ozemphic. I asked how that would interact with my autoimmune med, mycophenolate. She said that I could check with the neurologist. Oh my God!!! Very unacceptable answer. So I refused the Ozempic..
