Diane Wang, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Emory University School of Medicine specializing in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Wang’s academic background includes an undergraduate degree in Applied Mathematics from Columbia University, followed by a medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. She completed her ophthalmology residency training at SUNY Downstate Medical Center where she was elected Chief Resident and awarded the Resident Award for Excellence in Ophthalmology. She then completed a 2-year specialized fellowship in oculofacial and orbital surgery at West Virginia University, where she was recognized with consecutive Fellow of the Year awards. She is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Her robust research portfolio includes over 20 peer-reviewed articles and multiple book chapters, including papers on thyroid eye disease, artificial intelligence, and improving surgical outcomes. She received the prestigious American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) Research Award for her contributions to the field. In her clinical work, Dr. Wang’s treats adults and children of all ages, with the goal of combining surgical precision with compassionate care to restore both function and aesthetic confidence for her patients.
