Dr. Roccaro joined the Emory Transplant Center in 2018, and serves as Associate Professor of Medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine and as Medical Director of the Living Donor Liver Transplant Program and the Multidisciplinary Liver Cancer Clinic. Dr. Roccaro completed his medical degree at the SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, and then completed his internship and residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. Subsequently, he completed clinical fellowships in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology at the University of Pennsylvania, while also obtaining a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology. Dr. Roccaro’s clinical interests include hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), metabolism dysfunction associated liver disease (MASLD), and living donor liver transplantation. His research interest is improving survival for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and following liver transplantation. Dr. Roccaro is board certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and transplant hepatology. He is an active member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD) and on the editorial board for Liver Transplantation.
