Dr. Henry Wu is an Assistant Professor and Senior Physician at the Emory University School of Medicine, and serves as the Director of the Emory TravelWell Center. Dr. Wu previously served as a Medical Epidemiologist at the Meningitis and Vaccine Preventable Diseases Branch of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). He recieved his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, clinical training in infectious diseases at the University of Pennsylvania, and a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene at the London School of Hygiene an Tropical Medicine.
Dr. Wu's clinical interests include diseases acquired during travel, tropical medicine, and preparing travelers for high risk itineraries. He has lectured and written extensively on numerous topicsincluding travel medicine, infectious disease epidemiology, central nervous system infections, and the evaluation patients with serious communicable diseases. In addition to his academic training, Dr. Wu's practice is informed by his extensive field experience working and traveling in many countries in Africa, Asia, and South America.
