Hyder A. (Buz) Jinnah received his undergraduate degree from Duke University (Durham, North Carolina) and his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California (San Diego, CA). He did his Neurology training at Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, MD), and was on the faculty there for 10 years. Currently he is Professor of Neurology and Human Genetics at Emory University in Atlanta. He is widely known for his research in movement disorders, and particularly dystonia and neurogenetics. His laboratory focuses on developing a better understanding of these disorders via genetics and biochemistry, cell and animal models, and clinical studies with patients. He has held multiple large NIH grants, and has published more than 200 articles.
