Jacob Davis, MD, MS, CAQSM is an assistant professor in the department of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at Emory University. He received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, where he also lettered as a member of the Green Wave football team. He received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed his Family Medicine Residency at Louisiana State University School of Medicine. He then went on to complete his Sports Medicine Fellowship at Emory University.
Dr. Davis serves as Associate Team Physician for Georgia Tech Athletics and is also the Medical Director for intramural and club sports at Georgia Tech. As a former Division 1 athlete, he provides a unique perspective in the care of theathlete. Exercise and health remain an integral part of his daily life, and he enjoys taking care of patients of all ages, competition levels, and injury types. His specific clinical interest includes the utilization of musculoskeletal ultrasound to aid in the diagnosis of injuries and for therapeutic injections. This includes the use of corticosteroids, hyaluronic acid (HA), and orthobiologics, such as platelet rich plasma (PRP), for the treatment of muscle, tendon, joint, and nerve pathologies. His other clinical interestsinclude diagnosing and managing fractures and sports related concussions.
Dr. Davis is an active member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and American Academy of Family Physicians. He enjoys teaching and is also involved in academic research.
Outside of work, Dr. Davis enjoys working out, watching and playing sports, and spending time with his wife, who also works in sports medicine as a physical therapist.
