About

Dr. Pine attended undergraduate school at Brooklyn College in New York City and medical school at the University of Buffalo, N.Y. and completed his internship and residency in medicine at Meyer Memorial Hospital, Buffalo N.Y. He then did his pulmonary fellowship at Emory University from 1973 – 1976. Dr. Pine has been a member of the faculty of the Department of Medicine, in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine at Emory University since 1976 and has been a staff physician at multiple Emory-affiliated hospitals. Dr Pine has won multiple teaching awards including five “Golden Apples”, “Teacher of the year”  for the Pulmonary Division, and Emory University Attending teacher awards. He has been listed multiple times in “Best Doctors in America”.  He has served as Director of the Emory University Hospital and the Emory Clinic Pulmonary Function and Blood Gas labs as well as Director of the former named Henrietta Eggleston Hospital for children’s Respiratory Therapy Department and Pulmonary Function Lab. He has served as Director of the Emory University Hospital Medical Intensive care units. Currently Dr. Pine directs the Emory University Hospital Pulmonary function/Blood Gas Lab and is Associate Director of the Emory University Hospital Respiratory Therapy Department.  At present he works as an attending in the Emory University Hospital Medical Intensive Care Unit.  In 2010 he was honored with the Jeffrey R. Pine Endowed Professor of Medicine Chair in his name.
