John D Kim, MD

John D. Kim, MD, MS, FHM, FACP is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine.  He completed his undergraduate training at the University of Michigan in Cell and Molecular Biology, received his Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University and his medical training at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.  He completed his Internal Medicine residency at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University and served as chief resident, receiving the A. Zamin Rizavi, MD Award for being an exemplary role model for future generations of physicians. He is board certified in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Kim served as co-chair for the Resuscitation Committee at Emory University Hospital and was actively involved in the Mega Code training for the internal medicine residents.  He also served on the J. Willis Hurst Internal Medicine Residency Core Committee.  He facilitated the Capstone Pharmacology Module for the medical students, and precepted the Physician Assistant Student Physical Diagnosis Course.  He received the 2012 Hospital Medicine Director’s Award for outstanding contributions to the division of Hospital Medicine at Emory University Hospital.  Currently, Dr. Kim serves on several committees at ESJH including the Credentials Committee and several divisional committees including the Group Mentorship Committee.  At the state level, Dr. Kim serves as the chair of the Georgia Chapter of American College of Physicians (GA ACP) Hospitalist Committee and as a member of the GA ACP CME/Education Committee.  He also was elected to the position of the Secretary of the GA ACP in 2015.
